I have always loved to write about music because I think that to play, to teach, to write are three aspects of that same love. After many program notes and various conferences, I was talked into writing a book, Il mio Liszt, which brought back some friends that I had lost along the way: one can explain it better with words than with sounds. In those pages, I attempted to tell about things that in my opinion, were meaningful about the music, about Liszt and about the piano. The book had greater consensus among musicians than among pianists. Nonetheless, I have to admit that it seems easier to write or speak rather than play.
